| DDT
killing off Lesser Fishing Eagle |
| |
The experts reported
that the specie was facing a severe reproduction failure.
They found that the concentration of DDT, an insecticide,
in unhatched eggs was about 990 PPM lipid weight which
is nine times higher than the concentration that causes
reproduction failure in the bald eagle in the USA.

| Studies by Rishad
Naoroji have also shown that other raptors like the Peregrine
Falcon and the Grey Headed Fishing Eagle too have been
adversely affected by excessive use of pesticides. |
